How to become a flying ATV pilot in Israel?
The law requires every pilot operating a flying ATV to receive certification from a certified instructor licensed by the Civil Aviation Authority.
This is an extremely safe aircraft, so our course is relatively simple and short. There is no need for complex theory tests or tests, and there is no requirement to renew a periodic license.
The lessons are private and tailored to your pace, and we recommend two lessons per week.
The lessons are held at Ronit Airfield in the morning, and include preparation and inspection of the aircraft before flight, identifying faults, takeoffs, control, landings, and handling various emergency situations.
How do you start?
To join the course, contact us, and we will take care of the rest. If you have no professional flying experience, we recommend starting with a "Pilot for a Day" experience - an experience flight in a craft with dual rudders, where the professional instructor will accompany you throughout the entire journey and allow you to take the rudders and experience the flying yourself in a safe and enjoyable way.
The cost of the experience is 600 NIS, and if you decide to continue with the full course, this amount will be deducted from the price of the course.
Another option is a full trial lesson that lasts an hour and a half, which allows you to get to know the aircraft and the flying process in depth. The cost of the trial lesson is 1,250 NIS, which will also be deducted from the course price if you continue.
About the flying ATV "Bakai"
The flying ATV, also known as a Buckeye or a wheeled motorized parachute (MMG), flies at a constant speed of 55 km/h – a low speed in aviation terms, allowing for a longer reaction time and making the vehicle one of the safest of its kind.
The quadcopter's parachute is actually a wing with an aerodynamic profile, which creates lift when air flows over it. The wing is extremely stable, and it is almost impossible to make it stall or fold.
The wing is controlled by the legs, and the height is controlled by the engine power – more power to raise, and less power to lower. Simple, right?
